Finally closed!!

After the longest process I have ever endured we are finally closed!! Now the latest crunch is waiting for the surveyor to come out to take a photo of the property to make sure no work has been done so there is no mechanical liens on the property. We owned our land prior to this so it was hard not to do our construction drive early. We were told today the picture would be done by tomorrow morning so we plan on using our skid steer or however you spell it to construct it. My husband is an engineer and he's extremely handy so I'm very thankful for this! I do not believe there is a good bank   out there just a tad bit happier we changed to this guy then the last!

Welcome

Welcome to my blog, my husband and I are finally going to be able to start the process of building our home very shortly. It has been a very long process we our on our second bank and this time things are looking better finally. We are suppose to be closing on our loan this Friday and we are super excited and nervous!! I have read serveal blogs and have gotten a lot of information from many of them. Reading some of the blogs has actually helped us with adding certain things in our house that we wouldn't have thought of if we wouldn't have read these blogs. So I am hoping to do the same with ours. We signed in December with WH and our original dig date was set for April 10th well were in the beginning of May so that didn't work. We had 1st went with a bank that WH had suggested that was a mistake. I'm not afraid to say there name because I like to five credit was credit is due and also like to steer people away from any potential knuckleheads! So Rick with home savings out of Youngstown, that company wasn't doing things they should have been doing until almost the end of March which was getting close to our dig date. We also paid for an appraisal that was so far off from being accurate it was a joke, they then took over two weeks to tell us and only by me almost telling them not to bother giving us a loan if they didn't tell me the number by giving them a deadline even then so, we decided not to bother with them. Because the appraisal was so far off we would have spent so much time fighting it, you read other peoples blog that have some of the very same issues pushed them back months. So we decided to switch banks. It was a better decision but even so I still have a lotto say about banks and there customer service. Well we are counting down the days to start our dig. We have several things we have been trying to work on construction drive and finishing getting our last permits. I can say truly so far I have enjoyed working with the people at Wayne Homes the manager Kim in bowling green has been extremely great and helpful also Kerri I'm sure is sick of hearing my voice lol for how many times I call with questions. But they seem to have a nice team. I know I have read several things about field managers and that Kasey was a great one to have but he unfournatly quit the day before our lot inspection. So I'm a little nervous working with our new one because he is the same age as me 25...  Which not to say we're not extremely smart but I must admit older people some times know a thing or two :) so I will continue on on e we make it through closing couple more days!!!
