Waterproofing the basement June 3

The guys showed up about two hours ago to do the waterproofing they our out of Delta and called williams i will be going down in just a little bit to check up and take pictures! My blog is now finally up to date things have been crazy but i will try my hardest to keep up to date daily from now on. We are doing the backfill around the foundation Tomorrow and then Northwest will come back out on Wed to finish it and we start framing on Thursday! They also delivered our steel beam today We didnt do one all accross the basement because we only wanted one big open side because we have plans for the other side of the basment and do not mind some on the posts. We also our putting a bathroom in the basment having all of the plumbing put in for it and we will finish later on. Pictures to come.

Basement Forms May 30

I forgot to add that on Tuesday they also delivered our port a potty lol, the guys were happy!
 Thursday morning i went with my brother to go pick out countertops for kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room. This is what he does for a living so i consider him to be an expert as he did my last house and everything looked great!! After lunch we came home and HNB was pulling in behind us to set forms. They started to set forms and if really gives you a whole new look as to what everything will look like it was sooo exciting! And again the contractors were GREAT!! They did not get to set all of the forms on Thursday partly because he went through the front yard and thought that the dirt was hard and it was soft and he blew an airline on his truck which allows him to put the forms in the center of the basment easily. They came back on Friday they finished the forms and poured the concret M & R was the company they used for the concret and those guys were again extremly nice and did great work! They started to remove some of the forms on Saturday. They will start water proofing on Monday! Post pictures later tonight!

Footer inspection May 29

Nothing to exciting besides that we passed our inspection today. They will be setting the basement forms tomorrow!

Footers!! May 28

After our dig on Friday we had to wait until Tuesday because of the holiday. HNB did our footers they were extremly nice guys they did an excelent job! Everything looked straight and well put together! They not only put all the drain tile together that day they also poured them with concrete. They used this really cool machine to go across our basment to get the cement to the otherside. My home computer is acting crazy so i think i will type each day and come back later to add photos.

our dig day seems to be so far away!!!

Our dig day was set for May 23 well on the 21st we had the surveyor stake out our house. They only like to stake it out no sooner than two days prior to digging because theres a chance of them being tampered with. On the 22nd i recieved a call from Wayne homes saying that they still do not have our building permit that the county is not returning there calls and they sent someone down there to figure out whats going on, so they says they cant dig on the 23rd. I was freaking out because we had already had our house staked out! Then because we were approaching the holiday weekend that we might have to wait another week! Grr... It was all becuase of the county alot of codes have change and they did not know how to read them.. So on Thursday i recieved a call from Jason our field manager telling they had been able to figure things out and that we could dig the very next day!!! WOOHOO so excited!!!So we finally got to dig on the 24th Northern Ohio excavating did our dig and they were very nice people to work with in fact so far up to date we our very happy with Wayne we have a great field manager and the contractors so far have been A+.  Here our some pictures!!

Construction Drive

This was one of the most stressful things trying to get this done.. My husband is very busy with work and racing that trying to keep on schedule for our build was reahing near impossible because the closing process had kept being delyaed we were only going to have a week do our construction drive because our dig date was set for May 23. The tricky thing is you can not do anything to your land until a surveyor has come out to the property to make sure no work has been done on closing or the day after because theres a chance someone could put a mechanical lein on the property. So even though we had a week it was really a week because we had to wait for the surveyor before we could do our construction drive. My husband did our construction drive because we have a skidsteer and a family friend has a dump truck so we paid him to haul stone and my husband did the rest. I will post pictures as i have taken many i will also update my blog.

We had a preexsisting drive but the grass had over grown on this so he scraped off all the grass prior.

Finally closed!!

After the longest process I have ever endured we are finally closed!! Now the latest crunch is waiting for the surveyor to come out to take a photo of the property to make sure no work has been done so there is no mechanical liens on the property. We owned our land prior to this so it was hard not to do our construction drive early. We were told today the picture would be done by tomorrow morning so we plan on using our skid steer or however you spell it to construct it. My husband is an engineer and he's extremely handy so I'm very thankful for this! I do not believe there is a good bank   out there just a tad bit happier we changed to this guy then the last!
